All of the jewellery can be worn home at the end of the day. Due to the expensive cost of materials (metal clay is 99% pure silver) for this workshop pricing is higher than usual – you will make a minimum of three pieces.  €130.00 closing date for bookings - 18th Feb 2012 CLASS IS LIMITED TO SIX - 3 PLACES LEFT

Lisa Fahy - Bio:

Lisa is an experienced workshop facilitator and has worked with the National Museum of Ireland and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She earned her Level One Art Clay Certification at Art Clay Scotland in Edinburgh and is a member of the Art Clay Guild UK. Originally from Little Falls, NY, she now resides in Co. Mayo.

Silver clay is an exciting material developed and patented in the 1990s. Microscopic particles of silver are mixed with a moist binder to create a material that has the feel and working properties of modeling clay. Using simple tools, objects are easily given shape, texture, and character. After air-drying, the objects are heated to temperatures approaching the melting point of the metal, where the particles fuse together to make a dense, fully metallic object. Fired PMC work can be polished, soldered, enameled, and enjoyed like any other silver item.
