Bead Weaving |
The fascinating art of bead weaving involves using a fine beading needle and special thread to stitch together tiny seed beads to form beady tubes, ropes, netting and beaded beads. Also learn all about the shapes, sizes and colour definitions of beads. I specialise in three basic stitches and the art of making beaded beads.
1. Right angle weave - netting, this stitch is mostly used for forming flat pieces for making bracelets, chokers etc., it can also be used for smaller pieces such as earrings and button fasteners. Create the basic netting as a base, then learn how to embellish the netting with contrasting beads to add colour and texture.

Here are a few examples of my work.

2. Right angle weave - tubular, this stitch forms a tubular rope, it can be used to create beautiful necklaces, bracelets and even your own jewellery findings. By varying the bead colour and size you can create endless possibilities with this stitch. The example to the right is made from seed beads and fresh water pearls.
These examples are made from seed beads, small tear drop beads and have a beaded bead fastener.

3. Spiral rope, this stitch forms a soft spiralling rope, it is easy to master, the results can be stunning by careful use of bead and colour, the end result can be very different depending on the shape and size of the beads you use. We have a wide range of beads for you to choose from, and several examples to guide and inspire. Once you have learnt this basic stitch, endless variations can be used to create unique bracelets, necklaces and earrings.
